Hey, you. I'm so glad you're back. So, last time we were talking about something that a lot of people try to ignore. The fact that we're all gonna die. And I don't mean that to be dramatic. I'm just being honest here, okay? It is. The only thing in life that we are guaranteed to do is die, okay? And that means that we have an important question to ask.

I mean, what happens after, right. And is there a God? And even more importantly, well, who if God? I mean, what do we even mean when we say God? You know, some people think that he's just a vibe or a faraway fourth, some kind of cosmic vending machine that hands out blessings if you're good enough. And so today we're going to strip all of that down, because if God is really the one who made you and made all of us and he's really behind life, then don't you want to know who you.

Hi, I'm Talmida T, and this is the little Why where we break down the big who what and why's of God and a little way through digestible micro sessions. And today we're asking a big question. Who is God? Now let's start off by thinking logically, okay? Because I am a logical person. I am not a theologian. I'm not a priest.

I am literally a normal person with a normal job. And just like you listening, and I'm pretty logical. So I didn't grow up in the church. I wasn't raised a lot of stuff. I literally just started asking questions one day and I use my logic, just find my way to who, God, what? And so I'm popping you now, my friend, and here's how I think of it.

I mean, another popped into being out of nowhere, right? I mean, we see a building, there's a builder, you find a book. Well, someone wrote it on TikTok and Instagram didn't just magically appear, right? I mean, somebody dreamed up the idea. They designed the interface, they wrote the code, they launched it. I mean, that's basic reasoning and common sense.

And here's how the world works. I mean, we literally don't walk around Los Angeles or New York. I mean, look at these skyscrapers and say, wow, that's really beautiful. Skyscraper must have built itself. I mean, we don't scroll to our feet and wonder, this is the app just appeared out of nowhere. I mean, we know there's a mind behind the system, behind the building.

There's a car behind the thing. Okay. Now pause. Really think about that. The universe Galaxy Adams, black holes, time. Gravity, music, morality, consciousness, the human soul. How there exist. None of it just appeared. It all had a cost. So the obvious question is, well, where did it all come from? And whatever. Cause the universe can't be part of the universe.

I mean, there has to be beyond it, outside time, space and matter. I mean, the architect wasn't inside the building when he built it. I mean, he's outside of the building. He had to drop designs, right? The TikTok creators weren't inside of the app when they created. They were outside. They had to write the code. Right. And the same thing is with the existence of the universe in life.

And that's what we're talking about when we say God. God is the uncaused cause, the necessary being, the reason why there's something instead of nothing. He's the coder, right? And just like any coder writes a program with precision and purpose, God wrote the code of creation. And he didn't just stop there. He wrote it into your heart. Not by accident, not randomly, but on purpose.

Right. That's mind blowing. I mean, God didn't just hit launch and then dip other. Some people might argue that he did, but he didn't know. Just like any good coder who checks in on their app, or like an architect who walked to the heart of what they designed, or an artist who admires their work and wants to share in it.

God likewise wants to dwell with us. He wants to be near. He wants to be known and involved. And he did not just leave off guessing who he is. He did not. Throughout history, God has reached out, not in vague whispers, but in real, tangible ways through creation, through conscience, and eventually through people and prophecy. He didn't just build reality, he stepped into it quite physically and literally.

He didn't create us to survive alone. He created us to walk with him and to be with him in a relationship. The same reason we want children, right? Think about it. How how many of us long for children long for that relationship that love to be a parent God with family, long to be with us, longs to spend time with his children.

That is a code that is written in our heart. It's the ache for connection, for meaning, not a glitch in the system. It's part of the design. So let's get back to God. Stepping into our worlds. Okay? Just like an encoder who wants to interact with a creation, you know? He wrote himself into the program, he entered the world he made and he knew would be skeptical.

Okay. He couldn't just show up and say, hey, guys, I'm God. Or literally no one wouldn't believe him. How many people do we see today? Scammers and cult leaders or people with mental illness that claim to be divine? We don't take them seriously and God, being infinitely wise, laid the groundwork. He had to prepare people and lay down prophecy or photo for what it would be like when he showed up, so that when he did come, we would recognize him.

Right. You know, when if you go and have a date, you don't say, I'll just see you sometime. Now you're going to say, hey, I'm going to go meet you here at this time, at this restaurant. I mean, you need to have an advance notice. What? God did the same thing. And the way that he did that was he had to choose a people.

Hi. Who was his date and who was his bride. And he started with a man named Abraham. And through Abraham he built a nation. Israel. And he revealed himself to Israel. You know, he he laid down the expectations of when he would come so that they could recognize him. And here's the cool thing about Israel, this is the whole Old Testament guys in the Bible.

He didn't just they didn't just believe in God, okay? They literally encountered them when they were slaves in Egypt and when God led them out of Egypt with Moses, he led them with a pillar of cloud by the day and fire by night. I mean, that is literally God's presence that was dwelling with them a physical encounter her out.

Absolutely outstanding. And then in Mount Sinai, they literally went up the mountain with Moses, and they felt the mountains shake and they were terrified. It was stormy. They were terrified of it. And they screamed out and begged, Moses, don't let God speak to us directly again or will die. They were tear fried of God's glory. And so because God's mercy for God, that okay, I will speak to you through prophets now.

So when you hear people who say, well, why doesn't God just reveal himself? Well, he did quite literally to Israel and they begged him not to go. He literally did. And now, generation after generation, God sent messengers over thousands of years laying different prophecy after prophecy, little trail, the divine breadcrumbs, so that when the time is right, we will know exactly what to look for.

And then he came now to the king, not as a warrior, but as a child, a carpenter, a man. And this man didn't just claim to speak for God. He was different. He claimed to be God. And again, you know, anybody can claim that we've already established that many have. So God knew in his infinite wisdom he's going to have to prove it.

He's going to have to do something that no one else could ever do, something like rise from the dead. And that's exactly what Jesus of Nazareth did. I mean, he's the only person in history who is pre-announced by prophecy, over 300 of them by the way, over like 2000 years and a whole bunch of different countries, which we'll get into later.

He claimed to be God, and he rose again from the dead after being executed. No other religious figure in history has ever done that. Not Mohammed, not Buddha, not Krishna, only Jesus. That is what that Christianity apart. So if we want to know who God is, the next logical step here is to investigate Jesus of Nazareth. Okay, was he a real person?

I don't know what he. Was what they wrote about him true? How do we know they weren't lying? And if he really rose from the dead, what does that mean? So all questions that I asked. And they're all questions I hope you asked you because there are answers. And I promise you, if you stick around, you will find the answers to what you're seeking, okay?

Because in the next episode, we're going to start breaking this down piece by piece. Guys, we're going to put Jesus of Nazareth on trial here, okay? And this isn't like something that you heard on, you know, whatever show is, is totally unbiased, totally looking at the facts, looking at the historical evidence outside of biblical sources, looking at every little piece of evidence that we can.

So you, you, my friend, who were on the jury by the time we're done, can come up with a verdict. What do you believe, So let the case begin next week. Join us here at 3 p.m. every Friday, the mercy hour. We'll see you then.
